Water Bottles for the Lions Club and the Dixie Roundup Rodeo
Every year in September the Dixie Roundup Rodeo takes place in the historic SunBowl in downtown St. George, Utah. The rodeo is in it’s 88th year of existence and is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the St. George Lions Club.
Cowboys and cowgirls from across the country come to compete in barrel racing, team roping, and bull riding, just to name a few of the events. There’s also pre-rodeo entertainment and fireworks after the show. It’s truly a spectacle to behold.
And each year, the Stephen Wade Auto Center is proud to help sponsor this amazing event by providing water bottles to the St. George Lions Club.
Water bottles you ask? Why water bottles? Simple. By donating water bottles, Stephen Wade is able to exponentially increase the size of our donation.
We purchase several pallets of water bottles and provide them to the St. George Lions Club. Since we’re purchasing in volume, we get a pretty good price on the water bottles. The Lions Club then sells those very same water bottles for $1 each at the concession stand during the rodeo. And thus the several hundreds of dollars we spent purchasing the water bottles are turned into a donation of several thousands of dollars for the St. George Lions Club.
The St. George Lions Club then utilizes those funds to help improve our community and communities like ours around the world.
The Lions Club is involved with numerous beautification projects here in St George. They build walking paths, park benches, and plant trees throughout the city.
Lions also provide growth opportunities to young and old alike. By sponsoring scholarships for students, and eyeglasses for the needy, they provide a stepping stone for individual achievements.
They also assist Lions International in worldwide programs such as Leader Dog, blindness prevention, and disaster relief.
So this September, on Thursday, Sep. 15, Friday, Sep. 16th, and Saturday, Sep. 17th, head on down to the SunBowl and enjoy the Dixie Roundup Rodeo! And while you’re there, make sure you purchase a bottle of water with a Stephen Wade label on it to help support the St. George Lions Club.
